Setting The Judging Options

In this article you will be able to set preferences for scores, awards, scoresheet model, delivery and requirements judges will have to follow when judging, the type of table service during the competition and defining sample label options.

Table Service

Set flight size, table service and samples options.


  • Queued
    • Samples are served one at a time.
  • Flights
    • Set the number of samples sent at the same time to a table.
    • Have to be more than one.
  • Table Service Style
    • Here you choose how the samples are going to be delivered to the tables.
    • Bottles are sent directly to the tables
    • Previously opened and served in glasses.
  • Table Samples
    • Once the samples were delivered to the tables, you have two options:
    • Judges can only view sample information by using the judging code
    • Judges can list all samples on their tables beforehand (useful for virtual judgin


Define scoresheet options.


  • Scoresheet Type (Beer)

    You can choose between two models of scoresheet:

    • AHA/BJCP® Beer Scoresheet - Structured Version
    • BAP Scoresheet
  • Scoresheet Type (Mead)

    • AHA/BJCP® Beer Scoresheet - Structured Version for Mead competitions
  • Minimum scoresheet number of words

    • The minimum amount of words a judge must input on the scoresheet for it to be validated
  • Minimum feedback number of words

    • The minimum amount of words a judge must input on the scoresheet feedback area for it to be validated
  • Time warning

    • Set time warnings to notify judges if they are taking too long to judge.



  • Minimum Score
    • The lowest score a judge can give to a sample.
  • Maximum Score Distance
    • The maximum difference between the lowest and the highest score in a table.

Mini Best of Show and Best of Show (B.O.S.)


  • Number of Award Positions
    • For example: participants ranked between 1st and 4th positions, or 1st and 3rd, etc, are granted awards.
  • Allow multiple winners for a position
    • If your competition allows that more than one participant receive an award in the same position.

Sample Labels

Choose how participant data will be handled during the judging.


  • Use the same entry label and number for judging

    In this option, the labeled samples received from the participants, containing their data, are not changed before the judgment, which means that the judges will be able to read whose sample they are evaluating.

  • Don’t print participant information on label

    In this option, the labels containing participant data are changed to judging labels and judges are only going to have access to a code, having no contact with any participant data.

Delivery of Scoresheets

Choose how the judge´s data is going to be shown in the scoresheet that participants will receive.


Calibration Round

The Calibration Round takes place before the start of the competition and serves as a “warm-up” for the judges to get in contact with the BAP judging tool and level the score according to the competition parameters.


After setting the options, SAVE the progress and return to the SETTINGS pannel.
